“Ace of Cakes” — the Food Network reality show about the world of cake decorating and custom cake construction — will end after 10 seasons, the show’s star Duff Goldman confirmed over the weekend.
“It’s true: All good things must come to an end. Ace of Cakes’ 10th season, set to air in January, will be our last,” Goldman wrote in a blog Sunday.
Goldman, 35, is the owner of Charm City Cakes, a Baltimore cake shop which is featured on the TV show that first aired in 2006.
The reality series has profiled Goldman and his cake crew working on a number of celebrity clients and Hollywood projects that have included a replica of New York City’s Radio City Music Hall for the Rockettes, an edible version of the Hogwarts castle for the premiere of the fifth “Harry Potter” movie in Los Angeles and a cake copy of Wrigley Field in Chicago.
With the curtain falling on the beloved cake maestro’s show, he hinted that the cable network might have something more in store.
“Although we can’t reveal too much yet, there are definitely plans afoot for some big things for us in the future. Some of those plans involve TV cameras, some don’t. But believe you me, we aint going anywhere,” he wrote.
